On July 30, 1947, then Congressman Nixon was selected by Speaker of the House Joe Martin to to be one of the nineteen members of a select committee headed by Congressman Christian Herter to make a trip to Europe and prepare a report in connection with the post -war foreign aid plan that Secretary of State George Marshall unveiled at Harvard University in June of that year.

“I learned a great deal from the Herter Committee trip,” Nixon later recalled. “I had taken a poll and found that 75 percent of my constituents in the 12th district [of California] were resolutely opposed to any foreign aid. This was the first time I had experienced the classical dilemma, so eloquently described by Edmund Burke, that is faced at one time or another by almost any elected official in a democracy: how much should his voters register his constituents’ opinions, and how much should they represent his own views and convictions? After what I had seen in and learned in Europe, I believed so strongly in the necessity of extending economic aid that I felt I had no choice but to vote my conscience and then try my hardest to convince my constituents.”

Bush, and others mostly protest Rockefeller Republicans, Richard Nxion himself, Don Nixon his brother, and other allies from 1950s anti communism including G Gordon Liddy and working plans still in place from WWII and after with Joseph Kennedy Sr and other Kennedys, the alliance on strategic goals still intact but weakening in 1961 as the Troubles being again in Ulster like Belfast, and the cold war needs new thinking or improving understanding..

Through his interest in aviation and aerospace travel, Hughes formed the Hughes Aircraft Company in 1932, hiring numerous engineers, designers, and defense contractors.^[5]^[6]^{: 163, 259} He spent the rest of the 1930s and much of the 1940s setting multiple world air speed records and building the Hughes H-1 Racer (1935) and H-4 Hercules (the Spruce Goose, 1947), the latter being the largest flying boat in history and having the longest wingspan of any aircraft from the time it was built until 2019. He acquired and expanded Trans World Airlines and later acquired Air West, renaming it Hughes Airwest. Hughes won the Harmon Trophy on two occasions (1936 and 1938), the Collier Trophy (1938), and the Congressional Gold Medal (1939) all for his achievements in aviation throughout the 1930s. He was inducted into the National Aviation Hall of Fame in 1973 and was included in Flying magazine’s 2013 list of the 51 Heroes of Aviation, ranked at No. 25.^[7]

During his final years, Hughes extended his financial empire to include several major businesses in Las Vegas, such as real estate, hotels, casinos, and media outlets. Known at the time as one of the most powerful men in the state of Nevada, he is largely credited with transforming Vegas into a more refined cosmopolitan city. After years of mental and physical decline, Hughes died of kidney failure in 1976. His legacy is maintained through the Howard Hughes Medical Institute and the Howard Hughes Corporation.^[8

RKO[edit]

Seeking a customer for Photophone, then general manager of RCA David Sarnoff approached financier Joseph P. Kennedy in late 1927 about using the system for his Film Booking Offices of America (FBO). A Kennedy-led investment group had acquired the modest-sized, low-budget-focused studio the previous year, and he had turned it into a steady profit maker.

With Murdock’s assistance, Kennedy quickly maneuvered to interlock KAO and FBO—selling the exhibitor a substantial stake in his studio while buying up copious amounts of KAO stock. Within months, he had installed himself as chairman of the theater chain’s new board of directors. When Albee, still KAO president, visited his office, Kennedy reportedly asked, “Didn’t you know, Ed? You’re washed up. You’re through.” DeMille departed with a large payout in April and later in the year signed a three-picture deal with MGM. An attempt by Kennedy to reorganize yet another studio that had turned to him for help, now ERPI-aligned First National, strained his relationship with Sarnoff and raised the threat that Photophone would be locked out of the industry entirely. Though Kennedy’s deal with First National collapsed within weeks, the RCA executive saw that it was time to make his move.[4]

In September, while Kennedy was traveling in Europe, Sarnoff began negotiations with Wall Street banker Elisha Walker, whose firm was heavily invested in KAO, to merge the exhibition circuit with Film Booking Offices under RCA control. Soon after Kennedy’s return at the end of the month, the deal was finalized, with Kennedy arranging to sell off his FBO and KAO shares and options at enormous profit. On October 23, 1928, RCA announced the creation of the Radio-Keith-Orpheum Corp. holding company, with Sarnoff as board chairman. Kennedy, who withdrew from his executive positions in the merged businesses, kept Pathé and the PDC assets that it had absorbed separate from RKO and in his personal charge.[5] RCA owned the governing stock interest in RKO, 22 percent (in the early 1930s, its share rose as high as 60 percent).[6] On January 25, 1929, the new company’s production arm, presided over by former FBO vice-president Joseph I. Schnitzer, was unveiled as RKO Productions Inc.[7] A week later, it filed for the trademark “Radio Pictures”.[8]

From the 1940s to the late 1950s, the Hughes Tool Company ventured into the film industry when it obtained partial ownership of the RKO companies, which included RKO Pictures, RKO Studios, a chain of movie theaters known as RKO Theatres and a network of radio stations known as the RKO Radio Network.

In 1948, Hughes gained control of RKO, a struggling major Hollywood studio, by acquiring the 929,000 shares owned by Floyd Odlum‘s Atlas Corporation, for $8,825,000. Within weeks of acquiring the studio, Hughes dismissed 700 employees. Production dwindled to 9 pictures during the first year of Hughes’s control; previously RKO had averaged 30 per year.^[6]^{: 234–237}

Hughes shut down production at the studio for six months, during which time he ordered investigations into the political leanings of every remaining RKO employee. Only after ensuring that the stars under contract to RKO had no suspect affiliations would Hughes approve completed pictures to be sent back for re-shooting. This was especially true of the women under contract to RKO at that time. If Hughes felt that his stars did not properly represent the political views of his liking or if a film’s anti-communist politics were not sufficiently clear, he pulled the plug. In 1952, an abortive sale to a Chicago-based group connected to the mafia with no experience in the industry disrupted studio operations at RKO even further.^{[citation needed]}

In 1953, Hughes became involved with a high-profile lawsuit as part of the settlement of the United States v. Paramount Pictures, Inc. Antitrust Case. As a result of the hearings, the shaky status of RKO became increasingly apparent. A steady stream of lawsuits from RKO’s minority shareholders had grown to become extremely annoying to Hughes. They had accused him of financial misconduct and corporate mismanagement. Since Hughes wanted to focus primarily on his aircraft manufacturing and TWA holdings during the years of the Korean War of 1950 to 1953, Hughes offered to buy out all other stockholders in order to dispense with their distractions.

By the end of 1954, Hughes had gained near-total control of RKO at a cost of nearly $24 million, becoming the first sole owner of a major Hollywood studio since the silent-film era. Six months later Hughes sold the studio to the General Tire and Rubber Company for $25 million. Hughes retained the rights to pictures that he had personally produced, including those made at RKO. He also retained Jane Russell’s contract. For Howard Hughes, this was the virtual end of his 25-year involvement in the motion-picture industry. However, his reputation as a financial wizard emerged unscathed. During that time period, RKO became known as the home of classic film noir productions, thanks in part to the limited budgets required to make such films during Hughes’s tenure. Hughes reportedly walked away from RKO having made $6.5 million in personal profit.^[21] According to Noah Dietrich, Hughes made a $10,000,000 profit from the sale of the theaters and made a profit of $1,000,000 from his 7-year ownership of RKO.^{[6]: 272–273}

During time in Massachusetes we (the Donegans Tom and Ed and parents James and GLorian) were freinds with the Proutys and skated on frozen over cranbrry feilds togehteand dined together in each others houses. HE wrote the book on the JFK muder Secret Team that became JFK by Oliver Stone.

In 1947 Maheu established his own investigative company. Maheu also worked for the Central Intelligence Agency. He was later to admit “The CIA was my first steady client, giving me `cut-out’ assignments (those jobs in which the agency could not officially be involved).” This work brought him into contact with Howard Hughes and in the late 1950s worked for him on a freelance basis. This included intimidating would be blackmailers and obtaining information on business rivals.

In 1954 Maheu was hired to deal with a starlet attempting to blackmail Howard Hughes after their relationship had soured. Hughes also employed Maheu to spy on Ava Gardner. While working for Hughes he met Edward Bennett Williams, who in turn introduced him to Johnny Rosell, the mob’s frontman in Las Vegas. Maheu and Roselli became close friends.

Maheu served as Hughes’s bagman and among those who received money was Bebe Rebozo, a close associate of Richard Nixon. Hughes via Maheu also provided $205,000 to the politician’s brother, Donald Nixon in January 1957.

In 1960 Richard Bissell and Allen W. Dulles decided to work with the Mafia in a plot to assassinate Fidel Castro. Maheu was employed by the CIA to organize the conspiracy. The advantage of employing the Mafia for this work is that it provided CIA with a credible cover story. The Mafia were known to be angry with Castro for closing down their profitable brothels and casinos in Cuba. If the assassins were killed or captured the media would accept that the Mafia were working on their own.

In August 1960, Colonel Sheffield Edwards contacted Maheu. As Maheu explained in 1995: “In the winter of 1959-60, however, the CIA still thought it could pull off the invasion (of Cuba). But it thought the odds might be better if the plan went one step further – the murder of Fidel Castro. All the Company needed was someone to do the dirty work for it. Professional killers. A gangland-style hit.”

Maheu offered the contract to Johnny Rosell. He in turn arranged for a meeting on 11th October, 1960, between Maheu and two leading mobsters, Santo Trafficante and Sam Giancana. As Maheu pointed out, “both were among the ten most powerful Mafia members” in America. Maheu told the mobsters that the CIA was willing to pay $150,000 to have Castro killed.

On 12th March, 1961, Maheu arranged for CIA operative, Jim O’Connell, to meet Roselli, Trafficante and Giancana at the Fontainebleau Hotel. During the meeting O’Connell gave poison pills and $10,000 to Rosselli to be used against Fidel Castro.

Howard Hughes companies were closely tied at all times to the CIA.

And the Donegans (James Paul Donegan TWA pilot after being WWII and Korean War Army Air Corp ASAF Recon pilot conducting CIA work under almost certainly under Richard Bissle Jr, McNamara, and Lemay and others.

James Paul Donegan, 86, of Lincoln, Calif., originally from Dorchester, Mass., died Oct. 13, from injuries following an accident. Jim leaves his wife, Sue Ann of Lincoln; two sons from his first marriage, Thomas of Provincetown, Mass., and Edward of Arlington, Va. He also leaves a sister, Mary “Betty” Connolly of Atlantic Beach, Fla.; and a brother, Robert of Marshfield, Mass. He served in the Army Air Corps in Europe during World War II and later flew many combat missions as an Air Force fighter pilot over North Korea. Following the war, Jim joined TWA and spent the next 35 years as a pilot captain. His career took him over many of their domestic and international routes. Upon retirement, he met and married his adored wife Sue Ann and together they settled into an idyllic outdoor lifestyle, dividing their time between their Walnut Creek, Calif., condo, and hiking and skiing at their home in the High Sierra town of Truckee. A celebration of Jim’s life is planned later this month in Lincoln for his friends and family.

The Roman Catholic Irish History of James Paul Donegan. Born in Dorchester Massaschutes James Paul Donegan’s father lost is job as an accountant likeley during the Great Depression but likely also attended the same Roman Cahtolic Church as the Kennedy family Saint Aidans of Brookline Columbia Point .

Likely Joseph Kennedy Sr was able to get less well-to-do James Paul Donegan at that point OCS and P-51 pilot training, remaing a pilot for later years in TWA along with Barry Seal.

After Pearl harbor P-51s made by North American Aviation souped up with Spitfire engines lisscensed to the Packard Motors were produced in the USA anf flew to defend Coventry and other England areas on volunteer basis flying with the other Spitfires then after WWII he P-51 and US Bomber fleets workign together over Euroep to reclaim it.

After that my father flew in the Atomic Bombing of Japan (in that “wing”) and was part of the above grond blast testing and follow-up studies.

Raised in and born in North Carolina as Glorian Gainey daughter of Festus Gainedy who died in 1936, it seems the changed name was used to conceal the real Maria kutschera daughters, Maria Von Trapp nee Kutschera leaing the Convent in 1925 pregnant and with only Nazi Franz Kutchera the uncle as family.

In the USA the Kutschera name was not used. It appears Maria Kutchere in her three children NOT formally know were Marylin Monroe, Julie Andres, and Glorian Donegan, Marylin Monroe said to be killed by the CIA after she was raised outside RKO studies in an orophange and later close to the Kennedy family.

The likely father in 1925 fertiliation was Prince Albert of York, who had a speech defect the London KE Family FOXP2 gene and wanted some anomyous twins studies familly to watch the gene and its symptons, but the Kutschera daughter was a liability after the Berlin Olumpics Nazi showing of 1936 and two years later Asnculles siezing Austria and passing race hygene laws the world was hoffried with.

To Glorian and James Dongan there was nothing to hide. the Mother of Glorian came to the USA, raised a dustbowl family of farmers until WWII, then in the USA sang to raise war bond money to defeat Nazis.

As children in the 1920s they were used by the Nazis but fled that and Glorian Gainey was born in the USA with nothing to do with that, a USO girl herslef for the USA.

This tied into regime change as the watched families carrying these genes including the Nixons and Rockefllers, Donegans, and others who seemed to be at each others births including JFK and Edward Paul Donegan (my birth November 18 1961 Los Angeles.

The Nixon plans were using sleepers under fake birth certifcates for places like Indoneisia or Cuba and PsyOps, Peace Corps, Ford Foundation, others trying to get them into the spotlite of politics.

As JFK rejected the plans, Mahue and Mcone hated the Kennedy family that had defeated he brother Richard Nixon in 1960 for POTUS.

Don Nixon was at the place RKF was shot, was delighed RFK was shot, as other Right Wing CIA types were when JFK was shot.

The Atomic Energy programs James Donegan and the Donegan DNA was in was run by CIA MCone, and Mahue, Mcone, Hughes and others were all ties to this.

Atomic Energy Commission
In 1958, McCone became chairman of the U.S. Atomic Energy Commission. According to journalist Seymour Hersh, in December 1960, while still Atomic Energy Commission chairman, McCone revealed CIA information about Israel’s Dimona nuclear weapons plant to The New York Times. Hersh writes that President John F. Kennedy was “fixated” on the Israeli nuclear weapons program and one of the reasons that contributed to McCone’s appointment as CIA director was his willingness to deal with this and other nuclear weapons issues – and despite the fact that McCone was a conservative Republican.

Trinity was the code name of the first detonation of a nuclear weapon. It was conducted by the United States Army at 5:29 a.m. on July 16, 1945, as part of the Manhattan Project. The test was conducted in the Jornada del Muerto desert about 35 miles (56 km) southeast of Socorro, New Mexico, on what was then the USAAF Alamogordo Bombing and Gunnery Range, now part of White Sands Missile Range. The only structures originally in the vicinity were the McDonald Ranch House and its ancillary buildings, which scientists used as a laboratory for testing bomb components. A base camp was constructed, and there were 425 people present on the weekend of the test.

The code name “Trinity” was assigned by J. Robert Oppenheimer, the director of the Los Alamos Laboratory, inspired by the poetry of John Donne. The test was of an implosion-design plutonium device, informally nicknamed “The Gadget”, of the same design as the Fat Man bomb later detonated over Nagasaki, Japan, on August 9, 1945. The complexity of the design required a major effort from the Los Alamos Laboratory, and concerns about whether it would work led to a decision to conduct the first nuclear test. The test was planned and directed by Kenneth Bainbridge.

Fears of a fizzle did lead to the construction of a steel containment vessel called Jumbo that could contain the plutonium, allowing it to be recovered, although ultimately this was not used in the test. A rehearsal was held on May 7, 1945, in which 108 short tons (96 long tons; 98 t) of high explosive spiked with radioactive isotopes were detonated. The Gadget’s detonation released the explosive energy of about 25 kilotons of TNT (100 TJ). Observers included Vannevar Bush, James Chadwick, James Conant, Thomas Farrell, Enrico Fermi, Hans Bethe, Richard Feynman, Leslie Groves, Robert Oppenheimer, Frank Oppenheimer, Geoffrey Taylor, Richard Tolman, Edward Teller, and John von Neumann.

The test site was declared a National Historic Landmark district in 1965, and listed on the National Register of Historic Places the following year.

After the disaster of the Bay of Pigs Invasion, President John F. Kennedy[6] forced the resignation of CIA director Allen Dulles and some of his staff (Cabell, Bissle Jr.) . McCone replaced Dulles as DCI on November 29, 1961.[7]

McCone was not Kennedy’s first choice; the President had tentatively offered the job to Clark Clifford, his personal lawyer, who politely refused (Clifford would later serve as Secretary of Defense for Lyndon Johnson); and then to Fowler Hamilton, a Wall Street lawyer with experience in government service during the Roosevelt and Truman administrations. Hamilton accepted, but when a problem developed at the Agency for International Development, he was shifted there.[9] Thus Kennedy, urged on by his brother Robert, turned to McCone.[9]

John A. McCone was born in San Francisco, California, on January 4, 1902. His father ran iron foundries across California, a business founded in Nevada in 1860 by McCone’s grandfather. He graduated from the University of California, Berkeley in 1922 with a BS in Mechanical Engineering, beginning his career in Los Angeles’ Llewellyn Iron Works.^[1] He rose swiftly and in 1929, when several works merged to become the Consolidated Steel Corporation, he became executive vice president. He also founded Bechtel-McCone.^[3]

He also worked for ITT. In 1946, the General Accounting Office implied that McCone was a war profiteer, stating that McCone and his associates of the California Shipbuilding Corporation had made $44 million on an investment of $100,000.^[4] McCone’s political affiliation was with the Republican Party.^[3]

McCone served for more than twenty years as a governmental adviser and official, including positions on the Atomic Energy Commission in the Eisenhower Administration in 1958–1961 and with the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) in the Kennedy Administration and the Johnson Administration in 1961–1965.

However, it would be his service in 1950–1951, as the second United States Under Secretary of the Air Force, that McCone got his first taste of duty in the senior levels of the U.S. Government during the Truman Administration.
