That matter is important because Fox Corporation, the parent company of Fox News, has asked to be dropped as a party in Dominion’s lawsuit by arguing that it does not play a big role in coverage decisions at the network.
Dominion has alleged in its lawsuit against Fox Corporation and Fox News that during the 2020 election the right-wing network “recklessly disregarded the truth” and pushed various pro-Trump conspiracy theories about the election technology company because “the lies were good for Fox’s business.” Fox News has strongly disputed Dominion’s allegations.
So a producer working for several on air personalities setting up guest interviews in a stamped piece of paper deposition says was in the large law suit asked to help skew Fox News channel coverage and even witness statements in the larger lawsuits.
One factor is the Editorial Freedom issue. Are reporters bound by the editorial opinions or whims of the suits who are in the business offfice, and thus the suits not available for lawsuit, or is it top down journalism that imposed both erroneous and biased coverage of another compnay, dominion.
The damage to the producers reputatioin is the armature they stamped peice of paper came in as, but clearly the Dominion side is happy with any in-house Fox News team defectors if they can find some, sincere not.
As for witness coahing from what I have seen that and the disputes surrounding them are fairly common and unlike impeacment law, occur often enough there is probable a good amount of statutory or case law or both on witness prep.
